It’s getting tangled, tangled
Violeta Parra
Like ivy on the wall
And it’s sprouting, sprouting
Like the little moss on the stone
Like the little moss on the stone
Ay yes yes yes
Violeta Parra-
By Community Culture we are not only referring to the cultural objects of a community but also to how that culture is implemented, how it is done; how we organise ourselves to do it, how we relate to each other. Community culture is a specific type of social fabric based on listening, reciprocity, solidarity (mutual support). In rigidity and flexibility. It is a collective body, made up of diverse bodies, which goes beyond individualities. It is learning to work together without having to agree on everything. Welcoming diversity as one’s own is community culture. To create community culture is to invent processes that allow a population to adopt the form of a social fabric. Defending diversity and listening to it, finding common spaces and respecting individual ones. The community is made up of diverse groups and people, community culture is a harmonious and dissonant ecology.
From Akántaros we propose devices and practices in diverse contexts.
